The Friendly Fire family
Mason, Cheetah, glass, fire — the family that keeps the hearth burning.
Friendly Fire isn't a solo act. It's a family — built around fire, glass, and the people who show up when the heat is on.
I'm Mason. Some call me the Man On Fire, mostly after the Saint Cloud, Minnesota fire department got a call about a guy who was literally flaming. It was me: spinning poi, breathing fire, entertaining a crowd of college kids who wanted something wild. That night stuck. So did the craft.
I started spinning around 2006 after seeing fire poi on a haunted hay ride. Cheap props fell apart in weeks, so I reverse-engineered them and built gear that lasts years, not days. Making things that survive the flame became the heartbeat of Friendly Fire.
Fire performance brought us to Harmony Park — and that's where the family really took shape. It's where I fell in love with glassblowing: soft glass, wrap-and-rake, UV color, spoons and sherlocks and everything we still make for the catalog. And it's where I met Cheetah.
Cheetah isn't a side note. She's half the story. Partner, wife, co-builder of this whole world — the other love of my life beside the torch and the melt. Friendly Fire is what we make together: the glass on the table, the shows, the YouTube adventures through space with fire and ships and chaos, the hearth we keep for friends and clanmates who need a warm place to land.
We craft. We burn. We build. And we do it as a family.
